Pet Preferred Diagnostics
Pet Preferred Diagnostics was founded in Alpharetta, Georgia by Khristofor and Marianna Agassandian.
Our mission is to provide veterinarians, businesses involved in animal health care and their clients with precise and quick diagnostics.
Our philosophy is to utilize the latest scientific discoveries and diagnostic technologies to serve our animal companions.
Our vision is to make veterinary diagnostics available and affordable to all pet owners.
Our Team
Dr. Khristofor Agassandian
Owner, Founder and
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Khris Agassandian was born and raised in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. He received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Armenian Veterinary Institute, where he also served as President of the Student Scientific Organization. Shortly after his graduation, Dr. Agassandian also received his Doctoral degree in neurobiology.
Prior to Pet Preferred Diagnostics, Dr. Agassandian was involved in biomedical research in Europe, University of Iowa and University of Pittsburgh. He was the founder and director of the Electron Microscopy Laboratory at the Armenian Academy of Sciences. He also established and co-directed the Neuroscience Core Facility at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Agassandian’s experience also includes serving as director of a human diagnostic laboratory in Alpharetta, Georgia. He has a number of National and International awards for research and business achievements, as well as publications in scientific journals such as Nature Neuroscience, Nature Medicine, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Agassandian lives with his wife Marianna and French bulldog Roma. He enjoys taking care of his saltwater aquarium, playing tennis, as well as attending classical and jazz concerts.

Roma is our sweet and friendly French bulldog with a playful, funny disposition in spite of his severe allergies. He has been our number one client and model since donating his blood serum to help Pet Preferred Diagnostics launch the allergy tests for dogs. Dr. Marianna Agassandian
Co-founder and
Scientific Director
Dr. Marianna Agassandian was born and raised in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. After graduating from University with a degree in biochemistry, she worked at several scientific institutions in Europe. After receiving her Doctoral degree, she worked on a number of major bio-medical projects in France and the United States.
Dr. Agassandian is a skilled expert with more than 25 years of experience in scientific management and diagnostic tests development. She has worked with research and commercial institutions, including universities and commercial reference laboratories.
Dr. Agassandian has significant expertise in protein and lipid biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology and cancer research.
She has held positions as Research Scientist at the University of Iowa, Research Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, and Molecular Scientist at Bako Diagnostics in Alpharetta, Georgia. Dr. Agassandian has been published in many top-ranked peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Medicine.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to classical and jazz music, and outdoor exercise.
